To support the Technical Department in ensuring all aspects of product manufacture comply with required quality standards, legislation, product specifications, and HACCP procedures.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Supervision
Instruct and supervise QC operatives to ensure their daily duties are performed efficiently and accurately.
Support and deputize for the Technical Manager on daily technical matters.
Manage QA Supervisors, including oversight of holiday scheduling and general team coordination.
Quality & Compliance Management
Maintain a cost-effective quality function within the poultry factory.
Ensure all food safety and quality standards meet customer and legislative requirements.
Conduct internal audits including:
Hygiene/GMP
Glass and Plastic
Internal Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Training & Development
Train and develop quality team members to meet both individual and company needs.
Customer & Supplier Liaison
Work with customers and suppliers to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Liaise with the distribution team to ensure positive release procedures are followed and that the necessary information is shared promptly.
Reporting & Analysis
Monitor and report on factory quality performance via weekly summary reports.
Track and evaluate KPIs to inform continuous improvement.
Product & Process Management
Collaborate with the Product Development Technologist to ensure smooth implementation of new products.
Take specific management responsibility for the use and cost control of cleaning chemicals on site.
