​A family run Engineering company based in Stockton on tees is looking to recruit a full-time experienced Account & payroll Assistant to join our team.

The successful applicant will have exceptional organisational skills, using a professional and proactive approach to all aspects of this role. Attention to detail is a key attribute. Experience of Sage 50 Accounts & Sage 50 Payroll processing/administration experience is essential!

This busy role will include:

  • Sales & Purchase Ledger

  • Processing Sales Orders

  • Answering the phone and dealing with customer queries

  • Company credit card receipts

  • Filing and scanning documents

  • VAT preparation and submitting VAT returns

  • Monthly account journals

  • CIS subcontractors verifying and paying.


  • End to end processing of weekly and monthly payroll

  • Time and attendance reporting (wage costings)

  • Processing new starters and leavers for payroll purposes

  • Processing absences in line with statutory requirements and company policies

  • Processing company pension schemes ensuring compliance

  • Processing of other payroll deductions

  • Finalising payroll including submission, payments, pay slips, P45 and submissions to

  • HMRC

  • General / ad hoc office duties as required

The hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm.
