Full-time | Office-based | Outskirts of Harrogate (Leeds side)
An established and growing business located on the outskirts of Harrogate (Leeds side) is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join its finance team.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will provide accurate financial and management information to support strategic decision-making, ensure effective financial control, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organisation. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of a finance team of three.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, with study support available if required.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
• Manage, mentor, and support three members of the finance team
• Drive high performance, professional development, and effective collaboration
Financial Reporting
• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Deliver variance analysis and financial forecasts
Budgeting & Forecasting
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
• Work closely with department heads to ensure accuracy and alignment
Cost Analysis
• Monitor and analyse cost trends
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
Business Partnering
• Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial insight
• Support performance improvement initiatives
Compliance & Controls
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
Systems & Process Improvement
• Support the development and enhancement of financial systems and reporting tools
Ad-hoc Analysis
• Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives

Requirements
• Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and accounting software packages
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Proven experience in a Management Accountant role within an SME
• Experience within a technical or engineering business (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Flexible, proactive team player willing to support wider business needs
