A growing specialist business in the manufacturing sector is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to lead and develop their finance team. The ideal candidate will hold a CIMA or ACCA qualification and have strong management accounting experience, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or similar industries. This proactive role involves managing company cash flow, overseeing audits, and supporting a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment
Manage and report on company cash flow on a weekly basis
Oversee and manage audits from start to finish
Maintain relationships with banking and financial stakeholders
Implement improvements to cash flow and profitability
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Day-to-Day Duties:
Preparation of management accounts, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements
Reconciliation of accounts and review of Work in Progress (WIP)
Budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis
Monitoring company expenses and departmental costs
Posting journals and processing month-end/year-end accounting entries
Liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding financial queries
Preparing reports and analysis for senior management to support decision-making
Maintaining accurate financial records and systems (SAGE 50)
Essential Qualifications & Experience
CIMA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
Proven experience in management accounting within manufacturing, construction, or similar sectors
Strong understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) accounting
Experience managing company cash flow weekly
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team
Experience managing audits from start to finish
Proficiency in SAGE 50 accounting software
Degree-equivalent qualification in Management Accounting
Experience in both professional and industry settings
