​A growing specialist business in the manufacturing sector is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to lead and develop their finance team. The ideal candidate will hold a CIMA or ACCA qualification and have strong management accounting experience, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or similar industries. This proactive role involves managing company cash flow, overseeing audits, and supporting a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment

  • Manage and report on company cash flow on a weekly basis

  • Oversee and manage audits from start to finish

  • Maintain relationships with banking and financial stakeholders

  • Implement improvements to cash flow and profitability

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Preparation of management accounts, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements

  • Reconciliation of accounts and review of Work in Progress (WIP)

  • Budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis

  • Monitoring company expenses and departmental costs

  • Posting journals and processing month-end/year-end accounting entries

  • Liaising with suppliers, customers, and internal departments regarding financial queries

  • Preparing reports and analysis for senior management to support decision-making

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and systems (SAGE 50)

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • CIMA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in management accounting within manufacturing, construction, or similar sectors

  • Strong understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) accounting

  • Experience managing company cash flow weekly

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team

  • Experience managing audits from start to finish

  • Proficiency in SAGE 50 accounting software

  • Degree-equivalent qualification in Management Accounting

  • Experience in both professional and industry settings
