In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the Health & Safety department to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, develop safety protocols, and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Position Overview:
As a Graduate Health & Safety Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of health and safety practices at our manufacturing site. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates with a relevant degree inBusiness, Environmental Science, Public Health, Health & Social Care, Law, or Engineeringwho are eager to develop their careers in health and safety within a large-scale manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and conduct risk assessments and assist in the preparation of the necessary documentation.

  • Perform regular safety checks to ensure compliance with company safety regulations.

  • Collaborate with department managers to investigate accidents and compile information

  • Ensure that all contractors possess the required documentation for review purposes.

  • Facilitate safety orientation sessions for new employees and oversee compliance reporting. Manage audit documents and follow up on necessary actions.

  • Support facility safety measures, including testing fire alarms, inspecting fire equipment, and coordinating mandated safety inspections.

  • Conduct monthly safety inspections of equipment such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits, along with routine site evaluations.

  • Assist with compliance-related safety tasks, including fire risk assessments and equipment inspections.

  • Provide guidance to employees to ensure their understanding and adherence to safety regulations and procedures.

  • Ensure all employees are aware of their safety responsibilities and offer assistance as needed.

  • Coordinate the ordering and replenishment of personal protective equipment and first aid supplies.
    Maintain up-to-date information on the site’s Health and Safety notice boards.

This is a permanent, full-time role offering working hours Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 4.00pm with a 1 hour lunch break.

Starting salary is circa £30,000 depending on experience.

Holiday entitlement: 25 days + bank holidays.
