We are currently working with a supportive and forward-thinking business based in Stockton-on-Tees, who is looking to appoint a Finance Supervisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation that values fairness, flexibility and personal development.
The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager with day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with internal controls. You will also take responsibility for supervising junior finance staff and assisting with both month-end and year-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, mentor and motivate finance team members to ensure deadlines are achieved
Oversee purchase and sales ledger functions, resolving complex queries where necessary
Monitor cash flow and assist with the preparation of financial forecasts
Support the production of monthly management accounts and financial reports
Assist with external audits, providing documentation and clear explanations
Ensure financial procedures and controls are adhered to in line with policies and regulations
Candidate Requirements
AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent)
ACCA part-qualified or working towards (desirable)
Previous experience in a finance or accounts role
Strong Excel skills and experience with systems such as Sage, Xero or Coins (desirable)
Solid understanding of reconciliations, journals, ledgers and reporting
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload
Working Hours
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Salary & Benefits
£29,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
24 days’ holiday plus a discretionary Friday off each month (excluding Bank Holidays)
