QHSE Manager
We are recruiting for an experienced QHSE Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business. This key operational role is responsible for leading all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities, ensuring departmental performance targets are met and driving compliance and continuous improvement across the business.
The QHSE Manager will manage the Integrated Management System, lead certification and audit activities, support new product introduction, and ensure all processes meet ISO and regulatory standards. Strong leadership, clear communication, and effective cross-department collaboration are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Lead departmental performance, monitor KPIs, and implement improvements
Manage workload, staff development, and departmental expenditure
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams on QHSE matters
Maintain and develop the Integrated Management System (ISO9001)
Ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications
Lead problem-solving activities (8D, 5 Whys, RCA) and manage NCRs and warranty claims
Oversee internal, supplier, and customer audits
Support new product introduction, including FAI/PPAP documentation
Maintain document control and promote continuous improvement across teams
HSE Management
Maintain ISO14001 compliance and support sustainability reporting
Lead risk assessments, site safety reviews, and corrective action planning
Oversee accident/incident reporting, monthly HSE meetings and hazard management
Manage external monitoring activities (noise, LEV, air quality, etc.)
Conduct QHSE inductions for new employees and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
Person Specification
Strong work ethic with a focus on continuous improvement
Analytical, methodical problem-solver with mindfulness
Experience with 5 Whys, Fishbone, and RCA techniques
Able to work independently and collaboratively
Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills
Proficient in MS Office; MRP/ERP experience preferred
Able to read engineering drawings and understand tolerances
Previous Quality Management experience essential; regulated sector experience (rail/automotive) advantageous
