The Opportunity

We’re currently working with a highly respected, independent accountancy and business advisory firm with a strong presence across the North of England and Scotland. With over 800 colleagues across 19 offices, this firm prides itself on a culture built around honesty, humanity, trust, and passion — values which guide everything they do for their clients, colleagues, and local communities.

As they continue to grow, they are now looking for a Business Services Senior to join their dynamic Skipton office and wider Business Services team.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant looking to build on their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment. Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing draft financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

• Producing draft business tax computations

• Assisting in the preparation of VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts

• Supporting the filing of financial statements and corporate tax returns

• Raising and resolving queries with the Assistant Manager or Manager

This role is ideally suited for someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work and is confident operating in a busy and client-focused environment.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of technical accounting knowledge and practical experience within a practice setting. Specifically, you’ll need:

• A full UK driving licence

• AAT, ICAS, ACCA, or ACA qualification

• Experience working with FRS 102, FRS 102 1A, and FRS 105

• Proven track record in preparing financial statements and tax computations within a practice

• The ability to manage workloads under pressure and meet strict deadlines

• A proactive, team-focused approach with strong organisational and problem-solving skills

What’s on Offer

In return for your skills and experience, you’ll receive a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package, including:

• Employer contribution pension scheme (salary sacrifice), including life cover and income protection

• Up to 26 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), with the option to purchase additional days

• Smart working policy – flexible blend of office and home working

• Health Shield Cash Plan – cashback on a range of health services + retail discounts

• 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme for wellbeing support

• Paid flu jabs and eye tests

• Financial rewards for new client and colleague referrals (up to £2,500)

• Ongoing professional development, training resources, and paid membership fees

• Recognition programmes and regular subsidised social events
