We’re currently working with a well-established organisation in Teesside who are looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a QS with 3–5 years’ experience who is confident managing the commercial and contractual aspects of projects with limited supervision and is ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget, contracts are effectively administered, and commercial risks are carefully managed.
The Role
As an Intermediate QS, you’ll take ownership of core commercial functions across live projects, including:
Preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets and cost plans
Producing and managing Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contract conditions (including NEC Option C)
Preparing and assessing interim valuations and payment certificates
Evaluating, negotiating and managing variations and change orders
Monitoring project costs and forecasting final accounts
Supporting subcontractor procurement, negotiation and management
Conducting risk and value management assessments
Preparing financial reports for senior management
Attending and contributing to site and client meetings
Assisting in the preparation and negotiation of final accounts
What We’re Looking For
3–5 years’ relevant Quantity Surveying experience
A qualification in Quantity Surveying (or working towards one)
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly NEC Option C
Solid understanding of cost control and commercial management
Confident negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and reporting abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capability
