Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of contract cost management, working across multiple projects whilst contributing to financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and overall contract performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and agreeing valuations with clients whilst ensuring timely payments
Accurately measuring and quantifying materials from drawings
Allocating job costs in line with company procedures
Pricing contract variations and managing subcontractor payments
Issuing enquiries, comparing quotes, negotiating, and placing comprehensive orders
Assisting with supply chain control and visibility of liabilities
Contributing to monthly financial reports and cash flow forecasting
Liaising with estimating, design, purchasing, and contracts teams to identify and mitigate potential cost overspends
Supporting cost control and reporting across individual and multiple contracts
Supervising and training assistant or trainee Quantity Surveyors
Undertaking general administrative duties as required
Knowledge & Skills:
Confident communicator, capable of engaging with all levels within an organisation
Previous experience working for a specialist sub-contractor essential
Cladding knowledge preferred
Proactive, flexible, and deadline-driven approach
Location: Bishop Auckland
Salary: Negotiable

Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am - 5pm OR 8:30am – 5:30pm, Fridays 8:30am – 1pm
