We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team, to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of mobile warehouse storage systems. This hands-on role involves both proactive and reactive maintenance of a wide range of electro-mechanical equipment across a large and dynamic site. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall safety, functionality, and compliance of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive electro-mechanical maintenance across a variety of machinery and equipment.

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.

  • Support the inspection, servicing, and repair of site systems, infrastructure, and machinery.

  • Assist in the calibration of fixed and portable temperature monitoring equipment.

  • Use the maintenance management system to log and track maintenance tasks.

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

  • Operate mechanical handling and access equipment such as MEWPs, counterbalance trucks, and extended booms safely and in line with training.

  • Follow all HSE and company policies, actively promoting a safe working environment and reporting any concerns promptly.

  • Act as a first responder in the event of fire or ammonia alarms and demonstrate an understanding of relevant safety protocols.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and other departments.

  • Uphold company standards by ensuring all staff adhere to site rules and procedures.

  • Maintain awareness of site security, report suspicious activity, and challenge unauthorised behavior.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of glass register procedures, damage reports, incident reporting, and basic HACCP/CCP protocols.

  • Promote a positive, team-oriented work culture with a 'can do' attitude.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mechanical and/or electrical maintenance role, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

  • Experience with refrigeration systems is advantageous.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Shift Pattern:

  • 4 on 4 off, 12 hour days (6am-6pm)
