​We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join a busy team in Stockton-on-Tees. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of purchase ledger processes, support payroll, and contribute to the smooth running of finance and HR functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and matching with purchase orders and delivery notes

  • Prepare and process BACS payment runs, generate creditor reports, and issue remittances

  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies, liaising with suppliers as required

  • Support payroll by processing timesheets, mileage claims, holiday pay averages, and distributing payslips

  • Manage new starter and leaver documentation

  • Track van deductions for P11Ds and oversee repairs/defect reporting for company vehicles

  • Allocate staff hours to sites for billing purposes and monitor site performance using CVR data

  • Liaise with staff on holidays and sickness, ensuring records are accurate

  • Assist with document management and cross-departmental reporting

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using finance software

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team

Working Hours

  • Full-time: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm (1-hour lunch break)

  • Part-time hours can be considered
