The Document Controller will play a vital role in supporting the Contracts Managers by coordinating and managing all project documentation. The role ensures accurate records are kept, information flows efficiently between internal and external stakeholders, and all construction-related documents are controlled and distributed in line with project requirements. This is a detail-focused role, requiring strong organisational skills, an ability to work with bespoke software, and a clear understanding of document workflows.
Responsibilities
Work alongside and take direction from Contracts Managers.
Coordinate project information between draughtsmen, clients, engineers, and architects.
Maintain accurate records of project documentation, both hard copy and digital.
Manage the contracts server and paper-based drawing files.
Update and maintain the Load Tracker and Drawing Vault.
Distribute drawings to works and site teams.
Prepare, submit, and record RFIs (average of 100+ per project via client portals).
Progress projects through the approval–comment–construction workflow.
Coordinate drawings for sign-off for construction.
Ensure all construction-related documents are properly managed and accessible for all projects.
The Ideal Candidate
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
Able to use bespoke software, client portals, IFC viewers, measurement packages, and Tekla.
Clear understanding of document workflows and information distribution.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Previous experience in document control or a project coordination role.

Monday to Thursday 9:00 - 17:00, Friday 9:00 - 16:00
