We are working on behalf of a well-established client located in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, who is looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager – Groundworks to oversee multiple regional projects. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong focus on health & safety, project delivery, and team coordination within groundworks and civils projects.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce and monitor industry-standard health & safety procedures across all projects

  • Manage works involving groundworks, roads, sewers, earthworks, and plotworks

  • Oversee civils projects, including bulk earthworks, remediation, drainage, hard landscaping, and surfacing

  • Prepare, monitor, and maintain technical documentation, programmes, and reports

  • Lead, motivate, and coordinate site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams

  • Represent the organisation at senior-level meetings, presenting updates and reports

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role, with experience in groundworks

  • Strong knowledge of roads, sewers, civils, and earthworks

  • Willingness to travel to other sites as and when required

  • Excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word, and MS Project

  • Outstanding communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, planning, and reporting

  • Professional, personable approach to clients and stakeholders
