We are working on behalf of a well-established client located in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, who is looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager – Groundworks to oversee multiple regional projects. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong focus on health & safety, project delivery, and team coordination within groundworks and civils projects.
Key Responsibilities
Enforce and monitor industry-standard health & safety procedures across all projects
Manage works involving groundworks, roads, sewers, earthworks, and plotworks
Oversee civils projects, including bulk earthworks, remediation, drainage, hard landscaping, and surfacing
Prepare, monitor, and maintain technical documentation, programmes, and reports
Lead, motivate, and coordinate site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams
Represent the organisation at senior-level meetings, presenting updates and reports
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role, with experience in groundworks
Strong knowledge of roads, sewers, civils, and earthworks
Willingness to travel to other sites as and when required
Excellent IT skills, including Excel, Word, and MS Project
Outstanding communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, planning, and reporting
Professional, personable approach to clients and stakeholders
