I am assisting an independent business who are based a short drive from near Boroughbridge as they are recruiting for a Buyer to join their team on a full time basis.
To be the successful candidate you will have experience in purchasing, negotiation, and supply chain management. If you have a strong background in procurement and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
· Overseeing the daily operations of the department
· Managing import and export clearances
· Collaborating with the supply chain on ERP to ensure raw material availability and stock accuracy
· Planning and placing purchase orders
· Tracking purchases and expediting orders as necessary
· Negotiating prices and terms & conditions with suppliers
· Resolving supplier invoice queries
· Maintaining the supplier database
· Working with regulatory and quality teams on product and supplier approvals
· Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new suppliers
· Handling supplier complaints
· Liaising with relevant departments
· Performing any other duties as assigned by management
· Taking ownership of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) responsibilities, addressing concerns within and outside their areas of responsibility by notifying relevant managers
Skills and experience:
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
· Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, Business Central 365, and strong IT skills
· Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
· Strong work ethic with the ability to show initiative and excellent communication skills at all levels
· Team player with the ability to work on cross-functional teams and projects
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
