Overview
Our client; a leading regional firm of Chartered Accounts is actively seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join their Barnsley office in a role that will utilise their knowledge and skills to deliver a first-class service to provide accounts and audit support to varied an impressive client base.
Duties
Client bookkeeping
Assisting with the management of a portfolio of clients
Preparation of basic company financial statements
Preparation of interim management accounts
Preparation of personal tax returns
Preparation of partnership accounts and returns
Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
Potential to attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
Assisting with the training of apprentices
Company Secretarial Duties

Skills & Experience
Minimum 2-3 years experience working in an accountancy practice
Experience with Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, Iris, Sage Business Cloud is an advantage
Strong attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Exceptional communication skills with a good telephone manner
Strong written and technical skills
Strong prioritisation and organisation skills
Ability to handle confidential information
Strong record-keeping skills
Qualifications
Must be at least studying towards AAT
or have completed a relevant university degree
Studying towards ACA/ACCA is also acceptable

Salary up to £30,000 -plus study support
