An established accountancy firm is seeking an Accounts and Audit Senior to join its expanding team. This role combines audit leadership with the preparation of accounts and the delivery of a broad accounting and business advisory service across a diverse client portfolio.

Role Overview
The Accounts and Audit Senior will take responsibility for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, working with clients across a range of industries and sizes. Alongside audit duties, the role includes preparing statutory and management accounts, completing tax work and supporting client queries. The position also involves supervising junior staff and contributing to the development of the team.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead audit assignments for a varied client base, including large organisations, groups, SMEs and businesses with turnovers typically between £1m and £80m
• Plan and conduct audits in accordance with UK Auditing Standards
• Review the work of junior colleagues, providing guidance, feedback and on‑the‑job training
• Maintain clear communication with clients throughout the audit process, resolving queries and managing expectations
• Prepare accurate audit working papers, financial statements and audit reports
• Identify audit and accounting issues and present practical solutions to managers and partners
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams
• Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts and corporation tax computations
• Complete Self‑Assessment tax returns
• Assist clients with general accounting and tax‑related enquiries

Candidate Requirements
• ACA or ACCA qualified, or a finalist with relevant experience
• At least 3 years’ audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and UK Auditing Standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
