Accountant, Harrogate, £35-£45,000

A well-established successful family retail business is recruiting for an Accountant to work at theirHead office in Harrogate.

Working with their Head of Finance and reporting to the MD, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the success of the business. As well as finance duties you will also be involved in other areas including compliance and contract management.

To be considered you should be a commercially minded hands-on accountant, experienced working for SME’s with excellent communication skills, in return you can expect a rewarding long term career in a collaborative work environment.

This is an office based position, their modern offices are located on the edge of Harrogate with onsite parking. This is a full time position, although part time hours of 30hours/week can also be considered

Duties

·       Daily bank reconciliations

·       Processing purchase ledger invoices

·       Supplier statement reconciliations and supplier payment runs.

·       Processing POS daily sales and financial returns from the branches to the ledgers

·       Preparing bank payments for authorisation

·       Assist with production of monthly management accounts including detailed branch analysis

·       Assist with Payroll Management

·       Compliance & Reporting, assist with management accounts, cashflow forecasting, and balance sheet reconciliations.

·       Assist with bank payments and foreign currency requirements.

·       Assist with annual budgeting and provide financial data for reporting.

·       Complete FCA returns under direction of Managing Director.

·       Some HR Administration to include assist with management of the employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, induction, probation, performance reviews and exit processes.

Experience required:

·       Experience in a similar position is essential with a strong background in financial control and management accounts

·       Retail experience would be highly desirable

·       Confidential, professional and highly organised with meticulous attention to detail

·       Payroll experience is desirable, training can be provided
