Senior Management Team

What was your first job?

I was a Milk Boy; loved it, earned big money too £14 a week!

What’s the first concert you ever went to?

First, Status Quo 1978; best? Pearl Jam – every time!

What’s one of your favorite memories from the past year?

Playing the Old Course at St Andrew – just magical.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

I speak conversational Italian.

What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important?

Just to be a better, kinder person – I just think it is.

What is one thing people don’t know about you?

I was knocked over by a car when I was 8 years old – the car came off worse than me but I did spend a few days in hospital and got time off school! The guy who had been driving bought me a flageolet flute which I learnt to play.

On a more exciting note I was an extra in Calendar Girls when it was filmed back in  2002.

How do you spend your perfect Sunday?

I like a lie in on a Sunday – it’s the only chance I get. I normally do a gym session then come home,  read the papers and we always have a Sunday Roast.

If you weren’t a recruitment consultant what would you be?

I always wanted to go into teaching but after I left University my friend worked in recruitment and thought I would make a good consultant. She introduced me to one of the Directors at Hays and before I knew it that was it. I have never looked back though and I love this job.

What’s your favorite place to eat around here?

There are so many to choose from In Harrogate but the best meal I have ever had though was at Michael O’Hare’s restaurant in Leeds which is called The Man Behind the Curtain.

What’s something you’ve done, but will never do again?

I did the Yorkshire Spartan Race and The Major Series Races back in 2014 – I have never been so muddy, wet and cold in all my life.

FRANCES BAINBRIDGESenior Regional Manager

Where’s your favourite place in the world?

New Zealand – either being on my family’s dairy farm or exploring its beautiful landscapes and beaches.

What’s your favourite TV show?

I really enjoyed watching Suits and I’m looking forward to the third series of Sex Education to come out on Netflix.

What might people not know about you?

Thanks to my dad I have a massive interest in World War II and history in general. I used to love watching the old World at War documentaries from the 70s with him.

What was your first job?

I worked at Brymor Ice Cream. Favourite flavour was and still is Black Cherry Whim Wham.

What’s one thing that has surprised you about yourself?

I think I’m a good mum to my daughter Penelope and I didn’t always know if I would be; I have always put my career and job first but I now know and believe I can be good at both!

Best thing about your job?

I love working, recruiting and mentoring in the town where I was born. I’m very proud of the area in which we offer our services and the fantastic businesses we are lucky to partner with!
