Temporary Finance Assistant/Sales Ledger (full or part time hours on offer), Goole

£10.50/hr plus £1.26/hr holiday pay

 

This is a supporting temporary position working alongside the Finance Manager, ensuring the smooth operation of the finance function of the business. This role will be primarily responsible for maintaining the Sage 200 accounting system in a fast-moving environment together with the additional responsibilities listed below.

The company can offer full or part time hours (22.5hrs minimum) for a  3 month contract.

SALES LEDGER (PRIMARY SUPPORT)

·       Ensure that all sales invoices are posted to Sage 200

·       Ensure that the sales ledger is reconciled each month in Sage 200

·       Ensure that requests for credit notes are posted promptly

·       Send out monthly statements of account to all customers (unless otherwise notified by the Managing Director and/or Sales Director), following up any queries received in a timely manner

·       Attend monthly sales ledger review meetings with the Finance Manager

 

PURCHASE LEDGER (TO SUPPORT IF REQUIRED)

·       Post all purchase invoices into Sage 200

·       Ensure that all purchase invoices have a corresponding purchase order and delivery note (where applicable)

·       Reconcile supplier statements each month when they are received against Sage 200

·       Ensure that the purchase ledger is reconciled each month

·       In the event that a supplier statement does not reconcile to the balance shown in the Sage 200 accounting system this must be investigated and resolved promptly

·       Attend monthly purchase ledger review meetings with the Finance Manager

 

BANKING

·       Post banking transactions for the businesses GBP, USD and Euro bank accounts

·       Prepare monthly payment runs for the Managing Director to authorise. Each payment run report should be supported by reconciled supplier statements verifying that the amounts being paid to suppliers are correct

 

Requirements

  • Sales Ledger experience
  • IT literate including Sage
  • Sage 200 desirable, training will be provided
  • Immediately available or on a short notice period
