​Our client, a forward thinking and expanding firm of Chartered Accountants, is seeking a qualified Senior Accountant to join its Barnsley office. This is a key role supporting a varied client portfolio and contributing to the continued growth and development of the firm, with genuine progression opportunities toward future leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing your own portfolio of clients, delivering high quality accounts, tax and advisory services

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, management accounts, personal tax returns and partnership accounts

• Reviewing and submitting VAT returns

• Attending client meetings and liaising directly with directors and business owners

• Training and supporting junior staff and assisting with workflow management

• Identifying opportunities for business development and cross group referrals

• Working closely with senior management to support the strategic direction of the firm

• Ensuring compliance and maintaining consistently high service standards

Skills & Experience

• ACA/ACCA qualified (ideally 1+ years PQE) or finalist with strong practice experience

• Proven background in practice with the ability to manage your own workload

• Strong IT skills, including Office 365, Sage, Xero and QuickBooks

• Experience with IRIS and MyWorkpapers (desirable)

• Confident communicator with experience in client facing roles

• Proactive, organised and professional, with ambition to progress into leadership
