A well-established and highly regarded Chartered Accountancy Practice based in Ripon is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong practice professional looking to work closely with a varied client portfolio in a collaborative and supportive environment.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the MD of the practice on a diverse range of larger and more complex accounts for limited companies, alongside management accounts preparation and direct client advisory work.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for predominantly limited company clients

• Working with FRS 102 and FRS 105 reporting standards

• Preparation of partnership and sole trader accounts

• Preparation of corporation tax and trading tax computations

• Supporting clients with monthly and quarterly management accounts preparation

• Providing financial analysis, reporting feedback, and systems insight directly to clients

• Communicating confidently with senior client staff, directors, owners, and managers

• Working closely with Directors and Associate Directors on client matters and ongoing projects

• Using accountancy software to prepare accounts (IRIS experience beneficial, though training can be provided)

• Potential involvement in mentoring or training junior team members

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment

• Strong technical accounts preparation skills

• Good working knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105

• Experience preparing corporation tax computations and dealing with common business tax matters

• Confidence managing client relationships and communicating professionally

• Strong software and systems capability

• Ability to manage workload independently while working collaboratively within a team
