We are looking for an experiencedSales Estimating Leadto join a growing team. This is a lead role that involves overseeing estimating activities, setting priorities, and supporting team members where needed.
It requires a solid understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of estimating, along with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple estimates at once.
The Sales Estimating Lead plays a key part in helping the sales team operate efficiently and win new business by providing reliable and well-structured cost information.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Supervision
Lead and support the estimating/sales team, ensuring enquiries are processed promptly and accurately.
Oversee quotation preparation and ensure adherence to pricing guidelines and quality standards.
Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to team members.
Deputise for senior management when required.
Sales & Estimating
Analyse project requirements, materials, labour, and overheads to develop cost estimates.
Prepare professional quotations, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and terms.
Liaise with engineering or technical teams to understand requirements.
Ensure RFQs are issued promptly and supplier quotes are expedited.
Provide product and technical information to customers as needed.
Order Processing & Customer Communication
Manage order processing, track shipments, and ensure timely delivery.
Act as a point of contact for customers, keeping them informed on order status and addressing enquiries.
Maintain accurate documentation including pricing, specifications, and sales contracts.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Monitor sales performance and estimating KPIs, providing insights and recommendations to improve processes and conversion rates.
Support team effectiveness and customer experience by identifying areas for improvement.
Person Specification:
Proven experience in sales, account management, or technical estimating.
Background in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
Knowledge of pricing structures, quoting processes, and cost analysis.
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
Position: Full Time, Permanent
