Production Supervisor (Food manufacturer), Northallerton

A food manufacturer in Northallerton is recruiting for  a production supervisor to manage a small team of production operatives. To be considered, you should have experience of working in a food manufacturer with supervisory experience.

It is a hands-on position, although your primary responsibility  is to organise the operatives and to achieve a reasonable work flow throughout the day. Your position will also include directing, disciplining, training, and assisting lower-level manufacturing employees in a factory setting

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Helps manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
  • Enforces company policies and guidelines
  • Responsible for the training of employees
  • Assists staff members by offering personal growth opportunities
  • Implements cost-saving strategies and techniques
  • Ensures that production plans are completed by a certain time
  • Contacts appropriate sources for repair issues
  • Counsels employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow
  • Resolves issues and disputes between manufacturing employees
  • Creates and maintains professional schedules
  • Responsible for the appraisal system for production operatives
  • Communicates with and assists other manufacturing departments as needed
  • Evaluates the condition of production equipment
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for all workers
  • Compiles and analyses production records
  • Oversees quality control


Production Supervisor Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of production planning processes
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
  • Quality control experience
  • Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
  • Maintain workflow on a daily basis by setting up process variables and observing control points
  • Complete production plans by scheduling personnel, establishing priorities and reporting the results of process flow to upper management
  • Call for repairs if the operation of equipment becomes faulty or unreliable
  • Establish and enforce organisational standards for safety and production processes

Hours: Monday to Friday 7aam-3.30pm
