​Mixed Tax Assistant Manager / Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE + Benefits

Our client, a highly respected and growing professional services firm, is seeking a Mixed Tax Assistant Manager / Manager to join their established tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional looking to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio while contributing to both compliance and advisory projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax services to a broad range of clients, including individuals, partnerships, and owner-managed businesses. Working closely with colleagues across multiple service lines, they will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing compliance work, and providing tailored tax planning advice.

Key Responsibilities

· Managing annual tax return compliance for companies, individuals, and partnerships

· Advising clients on tax-efficient remuneration planning

· Providing corporate tax planning advice

· Supporting clients with succession planning strategies

· Advising on Capital Gains Tax matters

· Providing guidance on benefits-in-kind and employment tax issues

· Demonstrating strong technical knowledge across Income Tax and Capital Taxes, whilst identifying wider tax considerations such as VAT, International Tax, LBTT, and Stamp Duty Taxes where appropriate

· Collaborating with colleagues across tax and advisory teams to ensure the efficient delivery of compliance services to a substantial client portfolio

· Preparing proposals and fee quotations for prospective clients

· Managing the onboarding process for new clients in line with internal procedures

· Taking ownership of a portfolio of clients, ensuring a consistently high standard of service delivery

· Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts

· Contributing to technical publications, blogs, articles, and presentations within areas of expertise

· Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

· Professionally qualified in tax or accountancy (CTA, ATT, ACA, CA or equivalent)

· Previous experience in a mixed tax role within practice

· Strong knowledge of both tax compliance and advisory services

· Proven ability to manage a varied client portfolio

· Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships

· Ability to work effectively to deadlines and manage multiple priorities

· Previous team management or supervisory experience is advantageous

· Experience using tax software, ideally CCH
