Description

Material Controller, £28,000, Northallerton

As their material controller you will execute tactical purchasing and stores processes, ensuring products and materials are ordered, received, stored, issued and delivered to internal and external customers safely, accurately, meeting the required timescales and quality standard in accordance company procedures.
Duties
•Supplier RFQ (quotation) management obtaining best quality, cost and delivery performance to meet the needs of the business.
•Forecast, plan, execute and expedite just time in time orders and deliveries to support business, working capital and cash flow management requirements.
•Complete all required stores transactions in an accurate and timely manner within the inventory management system.
•Complete continuous inventory counts in a safe and accurate manner ensuring the results are accurately recorded in a timely manner in the inventory management system.
•Receiving, storing, picking, allocating and putting away products and material in a safe, accurate and timely manner ensuring they remain to required quality standard.
•Maintain supplier information and price books in the operating system.
•Investigate and resolve supplier order and invoice queries in a timely manner.
•Report supplier performance in respect of quality, cost and delivery of goods and services.
•Challenge current cost base, identifying and executing improvement / cost reduction opportunities.
•Support in development and implementation of commodity plans to achieve the needs of the business.
•Loading and unloading vehicles in a safe, accurate and timely manner ensuring products and material remain to the required quality standard.
Core Skills & Competencies
•2-3 years’ experience of working as a Buyer Material Controller Senior Stores Technician in an industrial product manufacturing and or supply environment.
•Ability to work under pressure, within tight deadlines, with flexible approach to working hours and a motivated team player.
•Ability to establish strong working relationships and engagement with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
•Process driven, detailed and solutions orientated, with experience of working in a formal, continuous improvement culture.
•Root cause analysis and problem-solving ability.
•Good communication, IT Skills and knowledge stock systems would be preferable
•Counterbalance Fork Truck License and full, current UK driving license
Hours: 7am-4pm Monday to Thursday
Friday 7am-1pm
20days holiday plus bank holidays
