Part time or Full time Finance Manager, Knaresborough area, £40,000-48,000 FTE
A well-established SME business based in the Knaresborough area with a strong reputation in their industry is looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their friendly and collaborative team. This is a rare opportunity to take over the responsibilities from the retiring incumbent who will provide a comprehensive handover, over a 2-3 month period from starting the role.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a stand-alone hands-on finance position where you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's financial activities and ensure the smooth running of the finance department.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in financial management or as a management accountant, looking for a long-term position offering flexible working hours to fit around family commitments or other personal commitments.

They can offer either part time hours from 3 days/week or the part time hours can be worked over 4 or 5 days to full time hours, Monday to Friday. It is all office based.

 

Key Responsibilities

·        Preparation and production of monthly management accounts

·        Prepare and manage the annual budget and forecasts

·        Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions

·        Monitor cash flow and advise the Managing Director on financial performance

·        Prepare and submit VAT returns

·        Liaise with external auditors and manage year-end processes

·        Credit control

 

Key Requirements

·        Proven experience in a finance management or management accountant role for a SME

·        Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·        Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload

·        High level of attention to detail and accuracy

·        Experience with accounting software (ideally Sage) and Microsoft Excel

·        Ability to analyse financial data and produce detailed reports

 

Hours and Benefits
