Finance Assistant, part time, £11ph


We are currently recruiting for a local company within the Health sector who due to an increase in business levels require a Finance Assistant to Support the Finance Manager


You will be supporting the Finance Manager in the management and coordination of all aspects of the company finances, optimising efficiency and financial performance, ensuring the company achieves its long-term strategic objectives.   You will be able to work confidentially, participate in collaborative working, assist in the service delivery, support learning and development, and ensure the company complies with regulations.



  • Process all income and expenditure invoices and statements, identifying any inaccuracies and rectifying such issues, informing the Finance Manager as required
  • Ensure invoices are paid within the given time frame
  • Maintain an effective system for the handling of petty cash and cheques
  • Processing monthly payroll data and ensuring accuracy of data
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate ledger coding for payroll
  • Provide support for the production of monthly financial reports
  • Ensure that effective financial controls are in place and processes are adhered to
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with stakeholders, ensuring the company receives a proportionate and equitable allocation of resources
  • Act as the primary point of contact for finance-related matters with stakeholders
  • Partake in audit as requested by the Finance Manager
  • Attend and actively participate in company management meetings
  • Attend any external meetings pertinent to the role of Finance Assistant


Previous financial experience is essential for this role, ideally you will have had experience of assisting in payroll.  Sage payroll knowledge advantageous but not essential.  The successful candidate will have worked in a varied and busy role
