Due to continued success and increased business capacity, a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation is looking to expand its Proposals team with the addition of a skilled and motivated Estimator.
Responsibilities:
Review and interpret Purchase Order Requisitions and Request for Proposals (RFPs) from clients.
Prepare accurate cost estimates based on client enquiry packages for review by the Proposals Manager.
Assess client specifications and prepare detailed and professional quotations.
Collaborate with internal departments—engineering, manufacturing, sales, and project management—to gather relevant information and ensure seamless proposal development.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and technical data.
Coordinate across departments to develop comprehensive bid documents.
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company health and safety procedures.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies.
Manage multiple proposal projects concurrently, meeting deadlines and client expectations.
Present proposal documents and provide support during client meetings and reviews.
Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience in estimating and/or sales, ideally within an industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Solid understanding of welding, fabrication processes, and stainless steel alloys.
Competent in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, and Project).
Basic understanding of AutoCAD is desirable but not essential.
Strong team player with excellent communication and coordination skills.
Awareness of health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
