Contracts Manager, £55,000.00 - £65,000.00 plus Car or allowance, Ripon

Due to growth, a business in the Ripon area is recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join their  team, it will be both an office and site based position with the option to work from home where suitable

Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for overseeing projects from prestart to handover.

Typical duties include:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and detailed support to site staff
  • Managing and creating construction programmes
  • Manage project budgets
  • Discussing and negotiation terms of business contracts
  • Attend site meetings to monitor and report progress
  • Manage sub-contractors
  • Control, manage, and plan resources
  • Resolve any operational issues
  • Ensure all Health and Safety measures are in place and followed
  • Management and development of staff
  • Liaising with site management, clients’ representatives, and the commercial team
  • Assist commercial team with the preparation of interim applications and final accounts
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within budget, and to a high quality



  • Relevant degree and/or at least 3 years’ experience as a contracts manager
  • Earthworks/Civils experience is preferable.
  • Proficient in the writing of Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to build relationships both internally and with clients
  • Strong IT Skills - MS office required
  • Flexible - Working from home/office but willing to travel to site when required
  • JCT and NEC contract experience
  • Self-motivated & positive attitude
