An established and expanding accountancy practice is looking to appoint a Business Services Senior Manager to join its specialist agriculture team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced practice professional who enjoys working closely with farming and rural businesses while leading a high-performing team and managing a significant client portfolio.

The Role

  • Manage a portfolio of agricultural and rural business clients, providing accounting, taxation and business advisory services.

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, becoming their first point of contact for financial and commercial matters.

  • Oversee the preparation and review of statutory accounts, management accounts and tax compliance work.

  • Ensure client assignments are delivered to a high technical standard, within agreed timescales and budgets.

  • Support clients with business planning, financial reporting and strategic advice.

  • Lead, mentor and develop members of the accounts team, providing coaching and technical guidance.

  • Allocate workloads, monitor team performance and support the development of junior staff.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure an exceptional level of client service.

  • Identify opportunities to introduce additional services and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, tax legislation and developments affecting the agricultural sector.

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or ICAS qualified.

  • Significant experience working within an accountancy practice.

  • Previous experience managing a client portfolio and leading teams.

  • Strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation, financial reporting and UK taxation.

  • Experience working with agricultural or rural businesses would be highly advantageous, although candidates with a genuine interest in the sector will also be considered.

  • Excellent leadership, organisational and people management skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.

  • Commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities to add value for clients.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to manage multiple priorities.

  • A full UK driving licence would be beneficial due to occasional client visits.
