An ambitious and well-established accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Business Services Director or Partner to join its senior leadership team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a commercially minded professional looking to play a key role in shaping the future of a growing firm while leading a significant client portfolio and mentoring a high-performing team.

This role would suit an experienced Director ready for Partnership, an existing Partner seeking a new challenge, or a senior leader looking for greater influence over strategic decision-making and business growth.

The Role

  • Lead a substantial portfolio of business clients, providing strategic accounting, tax and business advisory services.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, acting as a trusted adviser to business owners and senior stakeholders.

  • Oversee the delivery of accounts, compliance and advisory services, ensuring exceptional quality and client satisfaction.

  • Lead client meetings, providing commercial insight and identifying opportunities to add value.

  • Manage portfolio profitability, budgeting and fee agreements.

  • Inspire, mentor and develop managers and wider teams, creating a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

  • Work closely with the leadership team to influence business strategy, operational performance and future growth.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals and existing client relationships.

  • Support recruitment, succession planning and the development of future leaders within the practice.

  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, regulatory requirements and internal quality procedures.

About You

  • ACA, ACCA or ICAS qualified.

  • Significant senior leadership experience within an accountancy practice.

  • A strong technical background across accounts, financial reporting and UK taxation.

  • Demonstrable success managing a sizeable client portfolio and leading complex client relationships.

  • Proven ability to generate new business and contribute to the commercial growth of a practice.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience developing, mentoring and retaining talented teams.

  • Commercially aware, with excellent business development and networking skills.

  • Exceptional communication and relationship management abilities.

  • Strategic thinker with the confidence to influence business decisions and drive positive change.

  • A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
