An established Chartered Accountancy Practice is recruiting for a Bookkeeper with payroll experience to join their growing business.

The position is full time, 37hrs/week, they offer hybrid working (1 day/week working from home) and the option of working the full-time hours over 4 days. Their core hours are 10am-4pm

To be considered you should have experience working for an Accountancy Practice as a bookkeeper or Accountant with payroll experience.

Bookkeeping duties:

  • Prepare and process weekly/monthly data for clients using Xero
  • Preparation of VAT returns for review

Payroll key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process weekly/monthly payroll for clients using Xero
  • Ensure compliance with starter and leaver paperwork.
  • Ensuring compliance with pension auto enrolment for all companies and employees.
  • Manage HMRC communications including RTI
  • CIS returns.
  • Processing statutory payments, i.e., SSP, SMP and attachment/deduction of earnings.
  • Preparation and submission of payroll year end.
  • Benefits in Kind and P11ds.


  • To assist in providing an efficient payroll service for all payroll clients.
  • Accurate IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office programmes and Xero.
  • Bookkeeping and Payroll experience from an Accountancy Practice

They are based in Clifton Moor in a modern open plan office, with meeting rooms and board room, a breakout area, kitchen, shower room, lockers, parking on site, daily fresh fruit
