We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join a busy accountancy practice in Cramlington. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with bookkeeping experience in an accountancy environment to work with a variety of clients, including small businesses, sole traders, and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate client bookkeeping records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
Prepare VAT returns and assist with payroll as required.
Produce management accounts and support senior accountants with year-end accounts.
Liaise with clients to resolve queries and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations.
Assist in improving bookkeeping processes and maintaining client records.
Skills and Experience
Previous bookkeeping experience in an accountancy practice is essential.
Strong understanding of UK accounting principles, VAT, and payroll.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills for client and team interactions.
Proactive and willing to develop technical accounting expertise further.
