An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit an experienced Audit Senior to join its expanding audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified auditor looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while working within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The successful candidate will lead audit assignments, develop strong client relationships and play an important role in mentoring junior team members, with genuine opportunities for career progression.

The Role

  • Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion for a diverse portfolio of clients.

  • Lead audit fieldwork, both on-site and remotely, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high professional standard.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact throughout the audit process.

  • Review the work of junior team members, providing guidance, coaching and technical support.

  • Work closely with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality audit and assurance services.

  • Prepare and review statutory accounts where required.

  • Make effective use of modern audit software and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ensure assignments are completed in line with regulatory and professional standards.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the continued development of the audit team.

  • Keep up to date with changes in accounting and auditing standards.

About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice in an external audit role.

  • Experience managing audit assignments for a varied portfolio of clients.

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build lasting client relationships.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

  • High attention to detail with a proactive and commercial approach.

  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members would be advantageous.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites when required.
