Description

A vacancy has arisen with our client for an Assistant Management Accountant on a permanent contract. The role will be based near to Ripon and Thirsk, with great links to the A1. Reporting to the Management Accountant this role will support and assist the delivery of a professional on-site finance and accounts service to the business.

We are looking for a candidate who wants to progress in their career, assisting with more management accounting duties as the business grows. We would consider a part qualified person who wants to progress and would consider providing financial support towards completing an accountancy qualification for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase, Sales and Nominal ledger postings and reconciliations
  • Credit control and Debtor Chasing
  • Multi-Currency Banking, Cash Posting, Direct Debit collections, BACS payments and reconciliations
  • Experience assisting with monthly Management Accounts
  • Calculating and Posting of Month End Journals
  • VAT and Intrastat returns
  • Accounts reconciliation and analysis
  • Experience of Manufacturing Stock System, costing, reconciliation and variance analysis. Standard cost variance - Bill of material cost comparisons
  • Assist in the organizing, preparation and valuation of physical stock take and regular cycle counts including investigating stock variances
  • Intrastat reporting to Customs
  • Experience of Business Intelligent Software
  • Helping with the annual audit
  • Project work - i.e., helping to implement and test their new accounts system
  • Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the line manager

Personal Attributes:

  • Have previous experience in a finance or accounting position
  • Have worked in a multi-cultural work environment
  • Qualified to a minimum AAT level 3 or similar
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ambitious attitude
  • Willingness to learn
  • Able to take direction
  • Strong IT Skills in particular Excel at Advanced level
