The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Audit Assistant Manager to join a successful and growing independent accountancy and business advisory firm.
Working within a supportive and collaborative audit team, you’ll manage a varied portfolio of clients across sectors including technology, healthcare, construction, manufacturing and charities. The portfolio includes corporate clients, owner-managed businesses and group entities.

The Role
As Audit Assistant Manager, you will:
Manage a varied portfolio of audit clients across a range of sectors.
Work closely with Responsible Individuals and Audit Managers, reviewing the work of junior team members and providing constructive feedback.
Lead audits with minimal support, taking responsibility for the planning and coordination of the audit process.
Manage and direct audit assignments, ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately and within budget.
Liaise with clients to develop a strong understanding of their industry, business and the wider economic and regulatory environment.
Guide audit teams in designing appropriate tests to assess controls, identify weaknesses and make recommendations to clients.
Develop less experienced members of the team through on-the-job training, coaching and professional development.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering a service that exceeds expectations.
Draft and review audit completion reports.
Take ownership of your workload and ensure audit assignments are completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
Prepare statutory accounts and draft corporation tax computations.
About You
We’re looking for a confident and technically strong audit professional who is ready to make an impact.
You’ll ideally have:
ACCA, ICAS or equivalent qualification.
At least 3–4 years’ audit experience, including a minimum of one year at supervisory level.
Previous people management or team leadership experience.
Strong technical knowledge and excellent IT skills.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
The ability to work independently and take ownership of assignments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A strong work ethic and commitment to delivering a first-class service.
A proven track record of working successfully as part of a team.
A genuine interest in supporting and developing more junior colleagues.
