Are you an ambitious Accounts Assistant looking for a step up into an Assistant Accountant role? Maybe you’re an Assistant Accountant already and looking to take some higher level responsibilities. We are working with a business in Northallerton who are looking to bring a new member into their team, working closely with the FC and Finance Manager.
You will be getting involved with in-depth tasks as allocated by senior management, supporting them where needed, as well as day-to-day tasks such as:
  • General Accounting procedures and reconciliations as required to support the FC and Finance Manager
  • Support reporting and information for key stakeholders including Group, Auditors, HMRC, Bank + ONS
  • Credit control, including chasing and collecting monies due from customers
  • Support the management of Purchase Ledger Processes
  • Producing Customer invoices and credit notes
  • Process cash receipts and forecast future cash receipts for the weekly Cash Flow Forecast
  • Review and improve sales ledger processes
The successful candidate will have some good experience behind them within a busy finance function and ideally be studying towards an accountancy qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA etc.
Other desirable qualities:
  • Drive and ambition to progress within Finance function
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other computer systems and databases
  • A flexible team player with the ability to work proactively
