The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an Accounts Supervisor to join a successful and growing independent accountancy and business advisory firm.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a nearly or newly qualified accountant with practice experience who enjoys working closely with clients and is looking to take the next step in their career.
You’ll manage a small portfolio of SME clients, provide a proactive and client-focused service, and play an important role in supporting and developing students and colleagues within the team.
The Role
As Accounts Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Managing a portfolio of SME clients.
Maintaining regular client contact and delivering a proactive, client-centred service.
Training, supervising and supporting students within the team.
Reviewing the work of colleagues and students and providing constructive feedback and development guidance.
Preparing accounts for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders.
Preparing management accounts.
Drafting personal and corporation tax computations.
Supporting Assistant Managers with a variety of ad hoc client assignments.
Keeping up to date with changes in accounting standards and personal and corporation tax legislation.
Communicating with clients and HMRC both verbally and in writing.
Contributing to the continued development and success of the wider team.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is nearly or newly qualified and keen to develop their career within practice.
Ideally, you’ll have:
At least three years’ experience working in an accountancy practice.
ACCA, ICAS or ICAEW qualification, or be nearing qualification.
Experience working directly with clients across a range of sectors.
Strong experience preparing sole trader and company accounts, including FRS 102 and FRS 102 Section 1A accounts.
Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
A strong commitment to delivering a first-class service to clients and colleagues.
The ability to manage your own workload, work independently and meet tight deadlines while working within budget.
Excellent IT skills and the ability to retain and apply technical knowledge.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A proactive and collaborative approach to your work.
An interest in developing and supporting less experienced colleagues.
