Semi Senior Accountant – Barnsley
Salary: up to £30,000 + benefits
An expanding accountancy practice in Barnsley is looking for a Semi Senior Accountant to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant to develop their career within a supportive and forward-thinking firm, with full study support and ongoing training available.
The Role
The successful candidate will support a varied portfolio of clients, with responsibilities including:
• Preparation of company and partnership accounts
• Management accounts and bookkeeping
• Personal and partnership tax returns
• Quarterly VAT returns
• Client liaison and attending meetings
• Supporting and mentoring apprentices
• General accountancy and administrative duties
Experience with Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS, BrightPay or similar software would be advantageous. Experience with payroll, P11Ds and company secretarial work would also be beneficial.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
• 2–3+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice
• AAT qualification/studies or a relevant degree, with ACA/ACCA studies advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and time management abilities
• A proactive, confident and self-motivated approach
