An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Accounts Semi Senior to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is building their career in practice and is looking for greater responsibility, exposure to a varied client base and ongoing professional development.

Working alongside experienced accountants, you'll gain broad exposure to accounts preparation, tax work and client advisory services while receiving support to continue progressing your qualifications and career.

The Role

  • Prepare year-end accounts for a wide range of businesses, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.

  • Assist with the preparation of corporation tax computations, personal tax work and VAT returns.

  • Support the delivery of management accounts and other financial reporting where required.

  • Build positive working relationships with clients, providing a professional and responsive service.

  • Work closely with senior members of the team to ensure assignments are completed accurately and within deadlines.

  • Assist with audit assignments where required, gaining valuable exposure to the audit process.

  • Help review and maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with current accounting standards.

  • Support junior colleagues where appropriate and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

  • Continue developing technical knowledge through ongoing training and professional study.

About You

  • AAT qualified or studying towards ACA or ACCA.

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.

  • Good working knowledge of cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero.

  • Confident preparing accounts for a range of business clients.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Self-motivated, reliable and keen to continue learning within a supportive practice environment.
