Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a varied role within Accountancy Practice?

I am currently working with an established Accountancy Practice in Edinburgh that is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant / Generalist Accountant to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants exposure to different areas of accountancy rather than specialising in one particular area.

The Role

• You will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients and will be involved in:

• Accounts preparation

• VAT returns

• Bookkeeping

• Personal and business tax

• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations

• Management accounts

• Client liaison

• General practice accounting duties

• You will work closely with more senior members of the team while developing your own knowledge and responsibility across a varied client portfolio.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous Accountancy Practice experience

• Experience in accounts preparation

• Knowledge of bookkeeping and VAT

• Exposure to tax work

• Strong attention to detail

• Good communication skills

• The ability to manage deadlines

• A genuine interest in developing their accountancy career

• AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA/ACA would be advantageous, but relevant experience will also be considered.
