We are working closely with a Thirsk based business to recruit an Accounts Assistant into their busy team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a family ran business with lots of prospects for growth and development, and the chance to learn valuable skills.
They require someone with prior accounts experience and must be able to hit the ground running.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Bank reconciliations
Foreign currency posting and reconciliations
Petty cash for all stores
Credit card statement reconciliation
Purchase ledger management
Supplier payments (cheque runs and bacs payments)
Dealing with queries on the purchase and sales ledgers
Posting sales receipts onto Sage
Checking store takings with bank receipts and reporting discrepancies
Skills and experience:
Must be a self-starter who can work off their own initiative
Ability to deal with and prioritise a busy workload
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance role
Confident with IT and Excel
Ability to identify and implement improvements
Experience using Sage 50 Accounts Professional essential
Must be able to work methodically and be accurate
Working hours; Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm with one hour for lunch (35 hours)
