Accounting Manager (Business Services)

We are delighted to be recruiting for an established and respected independent accountancy and business advisory practice with a strong presence across the North of England and Scotland. The firm is known for its people-focused culture, its commitment to client service excellence and its long-standing reputation within the professional services sector.
Due to continued growth within its Healthcare portfolio, the practice is seeking an ambitious and technically strong Business Services Assistant Manager or Manager (dependent on experience) to join its team in Leeds. The role is particularly well suited to a qualified accounting professional with a passion for delivering high-quality financial services to clients within the Medical Sector.

Key Responsibilities
Managing a varied portfolio of clients within the medical sector, including GP practices, hospital-based consultants, private medical companies, dental practices, pharmacies and care homes.
Completing and submitting financial statements (Partnership FRS105 and FRS102 1A), business tax and personal tax returns for all portfolio clients within required deadlines.
Providing technical guidance and oversight to Business Services Assistants and Seniors.
Undertaking line management responsibilities, including 1–1 meetings, performance reviews and student development support.
Reviewing assignments prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy, compliance and readiness for client review.
Handling complex client queries, offering practical solutions and maintaining a high standard of communication.
Attending client meetings and contributing to the delivery of a high-quality client experience.
Building and maintaining strong professional relationships, encouraging client referrals and supporting business development activity.
Developing a network of professional contacts to support potential new business opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
Fully qualified accounting professional (ICAS, ACA or ACCA).
Prior experience working within an accountancy practice in a similar accounting or business services capacity.
A full UK driving licence.
A genuine interest in working with clients within the medical sector, with familiarity around sector-specific terminology and relevant legislation.
Ambitious, motivated and eager to contribute to the development of the wider team.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
Strong organisational, problem-solving and initiative-led working skills.
A collaborative team player, willing to support colleagues and contribute to a positive working culture.
