  • Managing and approving fees for your client portfolio.

  • Setting objectives for direct reports, monitoring performance, and supporting professional development.

  • Reviewing team and individual performance against agreed objectives and departmental KPIs, providing feedback where required.

  • Signing off and authorising accounts, returns, and related documentation where legally permitted.

  • Developing and maintaining a strong professional network to support business development and new client acquisition.

  • Identifying opportunities to cross-refer services and support wider advisory offerings.

  • Supporting recruitment activity and managing people-related matters within the team as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ICAS, ICAEW, or ACCA).

  • Hold a full UK driving licence.

  • Have extensive experience preparing non-statutory accounts, sole trader and partnership accounts, and statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP.

  • Possess strong technical knowledge across UK taxes, including personal tax, corporation tax, VAT, and capital taxes.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of wider professional services to identify cross-selling opportunities.

  • Be an effective and adaptable communicator with strong written and verbal skills.

  • Have proven experience leading, managing, and developing teams.

  • Be commercially focused with the ability to identify and drive business development opportunities.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary and remuneration package, commensurate with experience.

  • Employer pension scheme with life cover and income protection.

  • Annual leave of up to 26 days plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional leave.

  • Flexible and smart working arrangements.

  • Health cash plan and access to an employee assistance programme.

  • Paid flu jabs and eye tests.

  • Commission and referral incentive schemes.

  • Paid professional membership fees.

  • Ongoing access to training and development resources.

  • Recognition initiatives and subsidised social events.
