​Accounts Senior – Practice

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Senior to join a dynamic and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and client-focused professional who enjoys working with a varied portfolio and tackling complex accounting work.

As an Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting services to a diverse client base. You will be a proactive and approachable individual, confident in understanding client needs and providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial reporting and submissions

  • Prepare and submit year-end accounts, Corporation Tax computations, VAT returns, and Confirmation Statements

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients

  • Manage client expectations and provide clear, professional communication

  • Review work prepared by junior team members, providing guidance, training, and constructive feedback

  • Support and mentor junior staff to aid their professional development

  • Contribute to improving internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy

  • Maintain high-quality standards across all client files

Key Requirements

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / AAT)

  • Proven experience within an accountancy practice environment

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to handle complex accounts

  • Proficiency in accounting software

Additional Skills & Experience

  • Experience managing and/or mentoring junior team members

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong client service mindset with the ability to understand and respond to client needs

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to professional ethical standards
