Product Manager, Stockton, £22,000

A business in Stockton is recruiting for a Product Manager, you will liaise with other product managers (international and domestic) on all aspects of product management.  You will take responsibility for the research, evaluation and introduction of new technology products for inclusion into our existing product range.

 

Duties

  • Working closely with all other product managers on all aspects of product management and product life cycle management.  Taking the lead in the management and development of defined product groups and providing support to other product managers with their product groups
  • Responsible for the research, appraisal and evaluation of new products for introduction into the Company’s product portfolio in line with the Company’s product strategy
  • Responsible for the introduction of new products their suitability and conformity with current regulations/legislation/approvals, their fit with customer and market requirements, liaising with suppliers/manufacturers at all stages to ensure products meet the correct criteria
  • Ensuring that the company’s pricing strategy is followed for all products throughout their lifecycle whilst meeting market needs and ensuring profitability targets are met.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product profitability by negotiating better pricing, better terms or sourcing alternative products and suppliers
  • Ensuring that all required legal standards and technology licences are followed and kept up to date, such as CE, RoHS & REACH
  • Production of documentation for both new and existing products including product specification, user manuals, web text and marketing/design briefs
  • Creating and delivering product and technology training for the sales and marketing departments
  • Assisting with the proof reading and creation of documents required for PR, company promotional advertising and website advertising

 

Requirements

  • A good understanding of IT and AV equipment and technologies, knowledge of their hardware, current operating systems and accessories
  • The ability to quickly learn and understand new advances in computer and AV technologies and to be able to apply these advances into opportunities
  • Ability to communicate with staff and managers at all levels. Able to work one’s own initiative and within a team environment
  • Strong planning and organising skills
  • Good Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
