Description

This is an ongoing temporary requirement with a successful business based in central Harrogate.

As the Financial Controller, you will maintain and develop financial control and compliance across the group. You will be responsible for the financial accounting and control framework across the group through the provision of management and statutory accounts, management information, cash management, payroll, audit and corporate governance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the finance team to ensure proper accounting records are kept in accordance with UK standards
  • Ensuring best-in-class financial controls and governance are in place and monitored throughout the group
  • Preparation of group consolidated management accounts
  • Preparation of accurate and timely management information
  • Perform the role as the Finance Business Partner
  • Management of the year-end audit process and statutory accounts preparation
  • Tax matters including VAT and Corporation Tax
  • Cash-flow forecasting and working capital management
  • Continuously improve and review financial processes and systems
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Balance sheet control including fixed assets, debtors, creditors, accruals, prepayments and working capital
  • Develop accounting procedures, processes and controls with emphasis placed on integrity of data
  •  Liaison with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure timely input of data for monthly payroll

Required skills and experience:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Strong leadership/management qualities
  • Experience of managing a financial control environment
  • IT literate, numerate and with strong communication skills
  • Commercially aware
  • Solid grasp of modern financial practices and techniques
  • Good working knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of NetSuite (desirable)
